Live at Sweden Rock Festival 08.06.03

Having seen Masterplan once before I knew what to expect of the German/Norwegian constellation, and like the last time I saw them the guys convinced me this time as well!
Having said that; I still feel that they were even better the last time around, but given the sheer quality of their performance and the fact that Masterplan were the first band to enter stage at noon this sunday I’m more than willing to give them my acknowledgement. To my astonish-ment the attendance at this concert was surprisingly good given the time of the show, and one might ask what the organizers were thinking putting such a “big” and great band on so early (while other smaller bands were playing at a later time of the day)? But this is also my one and only complaint to this year’s Sweden Rock Festival. The show included pretty much the same set as I had seen in Oslo a few months earlier (which includes most of their debut and a Helloween-medley which included a Jorn song), with the band giving the spectators lots of musical joy. In my opinion Masterplan knocked the socks of all the other bands it would be normal to compare them with at this years Festival, such as: Blind Guardian, Sonata Artica and Kamelot.
Roland Grapow and Uli Kusch certainly showed themselves as true masters of the art, namely: Heavy Metal, and the bassplayer and keysman weren’t that much “worse” either.

And Jorn Lande……? He was in his usual Godlike manner!
